About Lily
My passion for mathematics began at a very young age when I discovered how comforting it felt to solve problems that once seemed impossible. That sense of clarity and accomplishment inspired me to pursue a B.Sc in Pure Mathematics, where I explored abstract structures, geometric logic, and algebraic reasoning in depth. Over the past 9 years, I have dedicated myself to helping students learn mathematics with understanding rather than memorization. I teach elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and SAT math with a patient, encouraging approach that helps students build confidence step by step. I believe that students thrive when they feel safe to ask questions, experiment with ideas, and take their time exploring challenging concepts. My teaching style combines warmth, structure, visual explanation, and real-life parallels that help mathematics feel less intimidating and more meaningful. Every learner is unique, so I adapt the pacing, examples, diagrams, and explanation style to the student’s needs, ensuring they feel supported at every stage of growth. Outside of teaching, I continue exploring new mathematical ideas, studying innovative teaching approaches, and creating custom strategies that make learning smoother for students. Guiding learners through moments of confusion into moments of clarity is one of the most rewarding parts of my work, and I look forward to helping each new student discover their full mathematical potential.

Mathematics becomes far more approachable when students are guided through concepts with patience, structured explanations, and relatable examples that bring clarity to each new topic. In my lessons, I work carefully through foundational ideas in elementary school math, such as number sense, early arithmetic, shapes, patterns, and introductory problem-solving. Once students develop confidence with these basics, we gradually transition toward middle school math, where they learn fractions, decimals, ratios, coordinate graphs, introductory geometry, and early algebra. Through consistent practice, visual aids, and step-by-step breakdowns, I ensure students feel supported every moment as they grow into more capable thinkers.
As students move forward, we explore deeper algebraic relationships, geometric reasoning, analytic methods, and structured techniques used in higher-level courses. I help learners understand expression manipulation, multi-step equations, polynomial ideas, angles, area, volume, and proportional reasoning. In this phase, students also begin preparing for challenges found in SAT math, including multi-part questions, data interpretation, and time-managed solutions. I focus on building clear strategies so students can handle each section with calm confidence.
Advanced lessons integrate real-world applications, multi-concept reasoning, word-problem strategies, and broader mathematical thinking. Students learn how to analyze longer questions, compare solution paths, identify patterns, and articulate their reasoning in meaningful ways. Across all levels, my lessons prioritize patience, clarity, and structured practice so students can approach mathematics with trust in their abilities and genuine confidence.
