About Elisabeth

I will always work with you, not against you! I try to make my lessons and environment welcoming and comfortable, I know the frustration of being tutored with methods that do not work. Tutoring is a joint effort, so let's work together to make our time together as beneficial as possible! Time is precious and so is your education.

About the lesson

My lessons are easy-going, I never want to make someone feel overwhelmed, especially when they are already having difficulty with something! Tutoring is about patience and slowly understanding how to better yourself! I take a simple approach where I ask constructive questions, and give examples for a better approach. With younger children I have them start by reading easy books, this allows reading comprehension and familiarizes them with correct spelling and grammar. With children of older ages I prompt them with questions and give them quick writing tasks. Example: I would have them read an excerpt from a book/short story and ask them to write something like, "Explain the symbolism of her hair color, as if you were writing an essay" or, "Write about the significance of this action and how it contributes to the storyline?", or "How would you describe this authors writing?", or "Write an argumentative thesis as best you can" etc. My lessons are for anyone who feels that they need a second opinion on an essay, or someone who needs to go back to the basics of learning. I'm very versatile and cater my lessons for each student.
