About Natasha
I'm currently a medical student, and getting here really wasn't a walk in the park. I've always loved the idea of being a doctor, mixing people skills and science, but knew that to get there I had a long road ahead. Exams are stressful at the best of times, and aiming for such a competitive degree really didn't make things easier!
The thing I found most helpful through my A levels and GCSEs was maintaining a good work-life balance. I kept up my music, and made sure to see my friends outside of school. Efficient revision was key.
By tutoring, I want to be able to engage students in subjects that I find fascinating and prepare them for exams that can seem terrifying at first. By focusing on exam technique, you can start to learn the facts and figures without having to go through endless flashcards, while making sure there won't be any shocks when exam season rolls around. I want students to be able to guide lessons towards the topics they find most difficult, and use the topics that they are most confident in as a basis for their learning.

My tutoring is exam focused for GCSE and A level students, and I aim to make students feel comfortable tackling exam-style questions, so they don't face any nasty surprises come exam season. My sessions focus on a particular topic area, and works from what the pupil is comfortable with, up to the higher level questions which challenge and improve a pupil's capabilities.
As the lessons progress, I may spend some sessions assessing what we have covered so far, as both a refresher and a chance to catch any tricker topics that may need repeat sessions to solidify understanding.
At the end of every lesson, I like to spend a few minutes talking over what we have covered, both to confirm what the pupil has learnt and as a way for me to help direct later lessons. This final recap gives me the information to prepare for the next lesson - either choosing a new topic to focus on or spending a little longer ensuring the pupil fully understands what we've done so far.
Lessons are usually an hour a week, but can be more or less often, and I can also offer two-hour sessions with a break in between each hour.
I have been tutoring for over a year and have completed more than 400 hours of teaching to pupils from KS2 to A level in science and maths.
