About Emily
From my undergraduate to graduate education, I have worked in classrooms to teach students specifically in Calculus, and on my own time, I personally tutor others in Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus.
I have Bachelor's degrees in English and Math, and I have a Master's degree in Computational Science Engineering and Math, so my background in these topics are strong. Paired with my experience as a teaching assistant, I am able to help students dive headfirst into topics and come back up with the skills they need to succeed in school!
I am always eager to see what students are currently learning, how the material is taught, and how what they're learning can be supplemented to better their learning experience.

I tutor middle school, high school, and undergraduate students in Calculus, Precalculus, and Algebra! I thoroughly enjoy these subjects purely because of how fun they are to teach, solve, and learn.
My typical method of tutoring is to investigate the key learning points for each problem/topic, see which of these learning points the student already knows, and build from there to help the student develop tools to solve these problems on their own in the future! I avoid directly giving answers or doing problems for the students because I believe each student can approach the solution correctly with the appropriate guidance.
In addition to teaching while working on problems, I can also prepare specific teaching materials to better introduce a topic so that students can have a stronger understanding of the materials they are covering in school!
