About Yin Ying

My name is Charlotte, with a specialism in teaching Science up to A-level at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school in London. I have been a full-time teacher for over 8 years, primarily guiding students in exam year groups for GCSE, iGCSE and A-level across exam boards - AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, and CIE. My private tutee achieved A* grades in Biology (92%), Chemistry (94%), and Physics (92%) in the most recent May/June 2025 exams. My qualifications: Master’s degree in Education from the University of Cambridge, and a First-class BSc degree in Biomedical Science with the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship, High Achievers Scholarship, Higher Education Advantage Award, and Best Year 1 Student Performance in Biomedical Sciences. I achieved 94% A* and 92% A* in my A-level Biology and Chemistry, respectively. My student once said that I have a superpower of 'making tricky concepts fun, simple and relatable'! A student, named Exxxx, that I tutored from Year 7 to 11 for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics – achieved 92%, 94%, 92%, and 99%, respectively, in his recent GCSE May/June 2025. The parent's testimonial: "Crazy results for science subjects; thank you so much. We owe this moment to you. You are the biggest part of his moment today". "Thank you for always having his back, especially in his most stressful exam time. You can't see it, but every time after your quizzing/lesson with him, he will feel so lifted and regain his confidence to do his exam." "You have set a solid foundation in all the science subjects for xxxxx. Sometimes I wonder, how did you do it? He understands those concepts without needing to keep revising or memorising. That's your superpower." The student's testimonial: "I really appreciate all the guidance and help you've given to me over the last few years, and the classes have always been really fun!" Messages from my students at London's school: "You have made me enjoy science and feel confident in the exam!" "Thank you so much for being the best science teacher. You're so real and funny." "You helped me gain my target grade, which is 3 grades higher than year 7." "Your science lessons for the whole year were the absolute greatest lessons, and I adored sitting through every minute of them." (All testimonials are available on my WhatsApp profile.) I’d love to think of my students and me as a team, working together to make the mission of truly understanding and conquering science not just possible, but exciting, wholesome and achievable! Let's see if my superpower can cure your confusion in Science! :)

Teaching approach: Comprehensive, exam-oriented notes will be provided every topic to facilitate students in a highly targeted revision to ace the final GCSE exam. Each week, I will design exam-focused worksheets/quizzes to target students' areas of weakness and strengthen their exam techniques and critical thinking skills to build their confidence in achieving the success criteria for grades 8-9. Most importantly, I am cheerful, patient and attentive to each student’s learning style, always tailoring my teaching to their individual needs to make every tutoring session very ENJOYABLE and impactful to prove that quality tutoring is more than academic-focused, as it should also motivate and inspire students to push beyond their limits! I hope to speak to you very soon! :)
