About Frederick

I just graduated form college myself and I understand that math is not fun for everybody, but my role is to help you tolerate it by guiding through the material that you find challenging.

I have learned to become a great tutor over the last three years through being a tutor and grader for Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 at the college level. The crucial concepts that make up the backbone of these courses are fresh in my mind. I also have a deep understanding of the concepts that may not be as advanced as I also tutored Math in high school for pre-calculus.

My favorite part about teaching is when the spark of enlightenment when a student finally understands a topic they have been struggling with. Even though it is not my full-time job, I truly enjoy helping people learn math.

About the lesson

As a mathematics tutor specializing in middle to college-level students, my approach focuses on creating an engaging and personalized learning experience. Here's how I share my knowledge and conduct my tutoring sessions:
Visual Aids: I use visual aids such as diagrams, graphs, and digital tools to illustrate concepts and make them easier to comprehend.
Step-by-Step Approach: I break down complex problems into manageable steps, guiding students through each step until they grasp the concept fully.
Examples: I provide concrete examples that target various learning methods and find different ways to explain a particular concept.
A typical lesson would follow the following structure:
- Review of practice exercises given at the end of the previous lesson with particular emphasis on challenging problems.
- Review of the material learned since last lesson in clients courses and target specific concepts that the client may struggle with.
- Work through assigned work from school.
- Review concepts previously studied.
Here are a few things that set me apart from other tutors:
- Personalized Approach: I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's learning style, pace, and areas of improvement.
- I adapt lesson plans based on the student's progress and specific learning needs.
- I focus not only on solving problems but also on developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their applications.
