About Yousif
I struggled heavily in my early high school years. I had no guidance on what or how to study, and disappointing marks made me feel lost and stuck in math. When each term built on the last and I didn’t understand the basics, catching up felt almost impossible. I know that feeling very well, because I lived it. In Year 10, everything changed. I committed to improving and enrolled in courses on study techniques, staying disciplined, and overcoming confusion. Within a year, I went from a mainstream public school student who needed private tutoring just to relearn the fundamentals, to ranking first across multiple subjects including mathematics. I enrolled in Extension 1, graduated with an E4, and duxed my school. That journey is the reason I tutor. I want to help students who feel lost or overwhelmed, just like I once did, and guide them to real improvement, confidence, and strong results.

What makes my tutoring different is how personalised and supportive it is. I tailor lessons to each student’s level and maturity, so a Year 7 session looks very different to a Year 11 session. I build strong relationships with my students and encourage them to message me outside lesson hours if they need help, because real improvement doesn’t just happen once a week. Every session has a clear objective, and by the end of the lesson students know exactly how to approach the specific questions or concepts we focused on. I teach exam strategy, not just content, and I help students develop study skills, time management, and confidence so maths feels less stressful and more achievable.
In terms of structure, I’ve found that two 1.5 hour lessons per week provide the best balance between covering content thoroughly and avoiding cognitive overload, but I remain flexible to the preferences of students and parents. I tutor Year 7 through Year 11, including 5.1 to 5.3 levels, and HSC Standard 1, Standard 2, Advanced, and Extension 1.
