About Jeremy

I am a PhD student at the University of Louisville, I've lived in Kentucky my entire life, but traveled as often as possible. I've been to science conferences in Japan and Spain, and would love to go back to both. I've been a server, bartender, and bar manager for the majority of my time at UofL, and I loved doing that as well. It made me a better teacher than any other job I've had. I met so many different people at such different levels of education, and I learned how to build concepts from the bottom up and teach anyone that is curious.

About the lesson

My teaching method depends upon each student. I listen first, to learn where they are in comprehension of the subject, and where they are having difficulties in understanding. I will ask them to walk me through a problem they have and see what trips them up. I then set up the simple rules they can always follow to work their way through on their own, depending on the subject. I teach the basic rules of problem solving, and coach them to learning how to be problem solvers on their own.
