  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My subject is Painting and Fine Arts. I have been interested in drawing and colours since childhood. Slowly, I started taking art more seriously and decided to study Fine Arts. I completed my BFA in Painting and now I am pursuing my Master’s in Painting. Art has always been something I genuinely enjoy, and that is how it became a part of my career too.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

I think my students are my biggest motivation. I really enjoy teaching children and watching them create something with their own imagination. I feel that art helps children become more confident and expressive. That is why I wanted to continue teaching and create a place where students can learn art freely and enjoy the process.
  • How does your work help society?

I feel that through art education, I can help children develop creativity and confidence. I try to make art easy and enjoyable rather than making students feel that they have to be perfect. Through my classes, I want to give them a space where they can express themselves and learn something creative.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role models are actually my own art teachers. They have influenced me a lot, not only as an artist but also as a teacher. The way they taught me, encouraged me and helped me understand art has stayed with me. Even today, when I teach my students, I sometimes remember the way my teachers guided me. I would love to become the kind of teacher for my students that they were for me.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Painting is still one of my favourite things to do, even outside my work. I also enjoy trying different art and craft techniques and learning new things. Recently, I have been exploring embroidery and other handmade creative work. Apart from art, I enjoy spending time with my family.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One thing I really enjoy is seeing the change in a child after joining my class. Sometimes a child comes to me saying, “I can't draw,” or feels shy about showing their work. I encourage them to just try without worrying about making mistakes. When they later come back happily with their artwork and say, “Ma’am, I made this!”, that feeling is really special for me. These small moments are what make teaching so meaningful to me.
