About Max
I am a university student at ANU from the United States, currently studying for degrees in Engineering and Science. I have been tutoring high school level math for around about the last year in Sydney where I live. My students have often told me that I am great at taking a complex problem, and breaking it down to explain it in much simpler terms, helping them understand mathematical concepts much better.

My teaching method is my students give me problems that they don't understand, want to learn or get better in, are struggling with, or simply want practice. I'll take them through different versions, stages, parts, or approaches of the problem and make sure that they understand the problem as well as possible. I'll write practice questions, throw in twists and things to confuse my student, with the outcome that they begin to master the type of math problem in concern. I believe that the best way to learn or get better at something is to have a really good understanding of what the problem at hand actually is - the better the understanding, the easier the problem.
