About Maxie
Solving the mystery of why a student feels stuck is the core of my teaching process. I keep a running record of what has landed and what has not for every learner. Many students I work with were failed by a syllabus rather than by their own lack of ability.
This is why I am a patient algebra specialist who works with high school and honors students. I focus on rational expressions, polynomials, and slope to ensure nothing is missed.
My aim is reaching the point where my job is finally redundant. It is rewarding to see learners grasp the basics of sequences and linear equations. I help them move forward with a steady sense of clarity. That is what I aim for in my work.

Working through real past-paper practice provides a concrete way to measure progress for college students and high schoolers alike. Because I am a PhD candidate in Mathematics at Stanford University, I approach these sessions with a rigorous yet calm mindset.
We will address factoring, completing the square, and complex word problems in a systematic way. Sometimes the shift in understanding happens when we slow down the pace of linear functions.
Equations that once caused anxiety become manageable steps through careful practice and consistent review. By focusing on functions and graphs, we illuminate the connections between different topics in the syllabus.
