About Sergiu

I have recently graduated from Imperial College London with a 1st class degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Currently working in business and engineering consulting with a long term objective of becoming a Chartered Engineer and joining the astronaut corps. One of my favourite activities is teaching; it is very rewarding to share my enthusiasm for science and engineering. My goal as an engineer is to literally change the world, to play my part in improving our current aerospace technology and enhance humankind’s power to explore. I share Elon Musk's vision of making Making Humans a Multi-Planetary Species because “what we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal” (A. Pike). European Space Agency Space Weather Satellite Design summer contest. July 2013  Created a winning space mission proposal for ESA, as part of a multinational team.  Responsible for the propulsion and attitude systems, calculated optimum orbit transfers. Reticular structure planning, manufacturing and stress testing. 2012-2013  Won the best in class award by creating the lightest and strongest structure. OTHER EXPERIENCE  Rector’s Ambassador of Imperial College London Nov.-pres. Representing the university at various events and promoting its prestigious image.  First aid volunteer with St. Johns Ambulance London Nov.-pres.  Business mentor volunteer, Commonwealth School Enterprise Challenge Oct.-pres.  Technical advisor volunteer, UK Space Design Contest and Global Climate Forum Oct.-pres.  Managing a small web & graphics design company from Romania 2011-pres.
