About Aayan
I have experience with rigorous math concepts all the way up until calculus BC. I have participated and performed well in the American Mathematics Competitions in which is a problem solving competition that requires extreme degrees of problem solving as opposed to the cookie-cutter experience that school math gives. I hope to transfer these insights to my students and help them not just know math to do well in school, but to gain mastery in the art of problem solving.

At its core, math is the art of thinking and logic, two aspects which are completely overlooked in the modern high school and middle school curriculum. For me this is a problem that needs to be solved immediately. Mathematics in the school curriculum is dominated by rote memorization of formulas and theorems without an understanding of them. Students are typically given repetitive problems of which the methods are taught and they have seen before. This is completely contrary to the true nature of mathematics. I will help bridge the gap between rote memorization and deep understanding by challenging students and giving them an insight into the distilled heart of mathematics.
