About Samia

I have been teaching since September 2014 and I have had experience with the education sector prior to becoming a teacher. This profession requires continual hard work and determination to get the best out of the students and myself. I have undertaken coaching cycles with other members of my department, where observing and giving feedback helps to build and learn techniques for best practice. Currently I am a Deputy in science (KS4 Coordinator) where I am in charge of curriculum development for the AQA specification in my current school. I have previously been responsible for the development of the KS3 course for Year 7 and 8. This involves writing and amending the scheme of work, ensuring that there is a key focus on practical skills and liaising with teachers to ensure consistency within the department. It also involves holding afterschool meetings for the department to help facilitate teachers’ development by implementing strategies to help underachieving students whilst encouraging a positive and collaborative team that further develops teachers’ skills. All my experiences, both voluntary and paid, have played an important role towards developing my abilities to become an outstanding teacher. I feel that given my experience and focus I will be a valuable member of your teaching staff, as giving pupils the support that they need with their learning is at the heart of all that I do. I always strive to carry out my duties and responsibilities well and ensure the best outcome for my students.
