About Mike
I've been a concept artist, illustrator and designer my whole adult life. Working in publishing, advertising, new media, design studios, etc. I've also published a graphic novel and several art books. All available on Amazon. Over the years I've received many awards from SILA, Graphic Artists Guild, SCBWI and have had many art shows over the years. Mostly in Seattle.
Working for Pokémon was my greatest pleasure, not only because they are a great company to work for but that they allowed me a lot of freedom with connecting ideas. I could bring them a variety of ideas and drawings.
The other companies were similar to letting me come up with as many ideas as I wanted to help entertain the fans of their brand.
It's something that I've always enjoyed and continue to do.

I can show you how to use your mind to jump start a concept. Real world with pencil and paper or using Photoshop, Illustrator and Procreate if you are using an iPad. Creating digital brushes, color choices, composition, design... going slowly at the start but showing how to speed up as you get better and more confident with the art tools you feel comfortable with.
