About Mary
My name is Mary and I am a Data Scientist/Teacher who lives in Denver, Colorado with my spouse and orange cat (Sir Fluffy). When I'm not tutoring students, I'm teaching computer science classes for adults, going for hikes with loved ones, or fly-fishing while listening to audiobooks.
I was motivated to start tutoring 15 years ago after overcoming my own academic struggles with dyslexia, ADHD, and anxiety. It was not an easy journey, as many people in my life wanted to help but were unsure how. Tutoring is a fulfilling vocation for me as I am able to relate to student when the path to thriving in school is a longer, but not impossible one.

Hi! My name is Mary and I've been private tutoring for over 15 years. I specialize in teaching mathematics, physics, and standardized test prep for middle school to college level.
I especially love working with students who struggle with test anxiety and learning disabilities. As someone who overcame struggles with dyslexia, ADHD, and exam fears, I find it rewarding to help other students rediscover a love of learning despite any barriers they might face.
Should you or your child decide to collaborate with me through tutoring here is my typical lesson format:
First Session (60 minutes):
- Introduction to student and parent (if student is a minor)
- Discussion of learning goals
- Create a plan of action to achieve the learning goals with tangible milestones to document and celebrate success
- Connect student to study resources to help them thrive between session
- Answer any ad hoc questions regarding current assignments
Subsequent Sessions (30 to 90 minutes):
- Focus on learning goals
- Check in on student's study habits and grades since last session, making sure student is spending time using techniques that work for them and meeting goals
- Work through current schoolwork or test prep questions
- Create a study plan to achieve before next session
Between Sessions:
-Email/chat support provided for ad-hoc questions between sessions at no cost (if minor, questions must come from parent's email or superprof account)
-Papers/Assignments can be reviewed asynchronously within 72 hours for $15 to $30 depending on size of assignment
