For both the languages, I advocate a lot of reading. I introduce reading materials to the students. Reading strengthens grammar, vocabulary and gives students ideas for Compositions.
For Science, I focus a lot on the fundamentals. Once the fundamentals are understood, it becomes easier for students to understand the topics.
