About Allison
"High school students frequently seek my support when they reach the wall of advanced calculus or coordinate geometry. Maths is everywhere.
I hold an MSc Data Science from the University of Edinburgh, which anchors my 12 years of experience in explaining how abstract numbers connect to the real world. My background is rooted in Python-first logic and rigorous algorithmic thinking. I integrate word problems into our sessions alongside traditional exam preparation to sharpen analytical skills.
I cover everything from trigonometry and linear algebra to mental maths and essential arithmetic. Homework help is provided through a lens of problem-solving strategies that help students tackle the most difficult questions on their own. "Calculus often feels like a foreign language to students who rely solely on rote memorisation. Have you ever wondered why the derivative of a function reveals the slope of a curve? I use my 12 years of experience to break down these barriers using simple, logical steps. My MSc Data Science background allows me to show you how maths functions in real applications.
We will examine your current homework to isolate the specific gaps in your number sense or geometry knowledge. I help you build confidence through 193 successful engagements with students who struggled exactly where you are today. Every session targets your specific weaknesses with a 6.0 level of intensity in our focus. We practise mental maths tricks that make exam day feel much less stressful.
You will learn to approach coordinate geometry with a clear set of strategies. I stay patient as we navigate these topics. My goal is to see you solve problems with total independence as we prepare for your upcoming assessments."
