About Emily
Simply reading a textbook rarely leads to a breakthrough in understanding the complexities of the nervous system or protein synthesis. I begin our time together with a diagnostic quiz before we build the study plan to ensure we target your specific knowledge gaps. Because I am a 4th year medical student at Johns Hopkins, I know how to frame difficult topics like mitosis, meiosis, and homeostasis in ways that stick. We will work through biological drawing and cell biology challenges until the processes become second nature.
My 5 years of tutoring have shown me that a structured environment is key for high school students and college freshmen alike. We do not just review information; we dismantle it to see how it functions. This methodical approach makes the study process much less daunting for everyone involved. I find it enjoyable to see my students finally connect the dots across complex biological systems.

Helping others navigate the biological sciences is my primary focus. Since I am currently completing my 4th year as a medical candidate, I see how the basic scientific method applies to real clinical outcomes.
I have worked with 88 students over the past 5 years to refine their knowledge of everything from cell biology to genetics and inheritance. I also focus on exam technique, which helps adult learners and homeschoolers stay organized during their preparation. I am a firm believer that high achievement comes from consistent practice.
My approach to biology is focused and results-oriented. Success is within reach when you work with the right plan.
