About Alexis
Sometimes the hardest part of chemistry is admitting that rote memorization is failing you. I guide you through the process of dismantling problems into manageable steps. My background as a medical student at UC San Francisco School of Medicine informs how I present technical material to MCAT candidates and college chemistry majors.
We apply logic to aromatic systems and carbonyl transformations to ensure you handle the clock effectively. I provide custom reaction summary sheets that synthesize the high-yield information you need for exam day.
These resources turn overwhelming topics like radical reactions and mass spectrometry into clear, actionable data. You will draw mechanisms until they become second nature rather than just shapes on a page. We move past the basics to refine your speed and accuracy. Is your current study plan yielding the results you need to move forward?

Pre-med students often feel the cold sting of a blank page when staring at complex reaction mechanisms. I spent 4 years refining my approach to help students see the logic behind IUPAC nomenclature and radical reactions. My focus remains on those who understand the concepts but hit a wall under time pressure.
I have worked with over 100 students including biochemistry majors and A-level chemistry candidates to bridge this gap. My expertise covers carboxylic acids, aromatic chemistry, carbonyl chemistry, and IR or mass spectrometry. I also provide guidance on SN1 and SN2 reactions, mechanism drawing, amines, and isomerism. Teaching is my full-time profession now.
It is a grind. I scored 520 plus on the MCAT and currently attend UC San Francisco School of Medicine.
