About Hana
I am very enthusiastic about art and passionate about helping people find their own artistic identity by exploring mediums and laying down the foundations of drawing. I have a thorough understanding of the Visual Art curriculum with additional experience through programs such as Art Smart and the National Art School year 11 art intensive. I am happy to help students with homework and assignments, as well as strengthen their conceptual understanding of art and apply it to their pieces. I have also created art and animated for 5 years using the Procreate program, so I’ll be able to help anyone interested in digital art set up and learn how to use it.

My lessons are ideal for students in K–9 and typically run for 1 to 1.5 hours. They're quite flexible as I prioritise creating lessons for to each individual student's needs and goals, but generally follow an age-based progression:
K–3: Exploring Art Through Play
Focus on building fine motor skills through:
-Line drawings
-Cutting shapes
-Playing with textures
Introduction to colour:
-Basic colour mixing
Learning to 'read' visual images. Encouraging non-verbal creative expression. Emphasis on fun, exploration, and sensory learning.
Years 4–6: Building Technical Skills
Focus on foundational skills:
-Observation
-Shading
-Proportion
Practice through still life drawings of everyday objects.
Encourage imaginative thinking by combining technique with creativity.
Explore visual techniques and emotional expression through colour.
Optional introduction to digital art (e.g., Procreate).
Years 7–9: Conceptual and Creative Development
Focus on intentional and meaningful art-making.
Explore personal themes to integrate into their own art. Create mini self-directed projects (similar to senior Visual Arts) and also learn to analyse art using conceptual frames. Combine technical skills and creative choices to add depth and intention to artwork.
