About Liberty
I have been working as a tutor since 2019, specializing in academic writing. I have tutored for colleges and universities, and I am also a published poet and currently working on a fiction novel. I will have a piece of prose being published this winter along with several new poems.
Academic writing can come in many forms, but my academic writing expertise goes beyond an English paper as I have an associates degree in Human Services with a focus on Education and am finishing my bachelors degree in Psychology with a Biology minor currently. Academic writing includes scientific writing, and a large majority of my students come to me with writing for the sciences.

A typical lesson with me starts with your goals as a writer. What are your specific goals and intentions with your writing? Do you want to understand the "how's" and "why's?" Are you struggling with sentence transitions? Are you working to expand your working vocabulary? All such concerns are things we can address in a typical lesson.
What kind of writers do I work with? I mostly work with those who are middle-school age all the way to the graduate school level (i.e. master's programs). My primary focus and expertise is in academic writing, but I am also a published poet, and I tutor creative writing as well. My lesson plans are highly student-centric, and lesson plans are designed according to specific student needs.
I usually run my lessons from 45 min - one hour so that we cover key material, but we do not cover so much that the student is overwhelmed with information. Cognitively, we can only learn so much at a time, so this one-hour goal allows the student to best absorb the information being learned/reviewed.
