About Renee
I have a Bachelor of Science with a major in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Secondary Education. I am a qualified and registered mathematics teacher. At university I achieved the highest GPA in the faculty when I graduated. I am a compassionate, open and patient person.

Currently I am offering online sessions via Zoom and I use a collaborative whiteboard, other mathematics tools specifically for math tutoring. My rate is $65/hour. I offer 1-hour sessions for primary school mathematics, high school mathematics (years 7 to 10) and years 11-12 Mathematics. I can be flexible with the length of the sessions. I am well-versed in the Australian Curriculum and individual state and territory syllabuses. When tutoring students I think about how the different topics in mathematics link together and ensure that students have a solid foundation for future topics. I use a lot of different teaching strategies, but I personalize my teaching approach to each student's individual needs and personality. I use prompting, coaching, direct instruction, provide worked examples and model my thought processes in mathematics for students. I also use the 'I do, we do, you do' model for introducing new concepts. I focus on strengthening a student's identified weak areas and adjust tutoring sessions to their individual goals. I also can work on students' limiting beliefs about their ability to do mathematics.
