About Katie

Katie is a multi-faceted, entrepreneurial spirited teacher, author, educator, musician, performer, producer and liaison. She has received considerable accolades for her accomplishments from numerous stellar and exclusive media outlets such as CBS, Southlake Style, CW33, DFW Child, The Dallas Observer and Voyage Dallas as well as others. Katie is an expert in her field and offers the highest rated services and opportunities in the industry. More recently, she was filmed as featured vocal coach in the documentary "Teach the World to Sing" that is airing on Netflix in 2020. Through studying with Katie, many students have become professional musicians and some of today's leading talent in the music industry.

About the lesson

Unlike any other instrument, the human voice is very unique. Just as our speaking voices are all different, so are our singing voices. That's why in your first class we will discover what makes your voice unique and specifically look at what we will work on together. We will look specifically at your vocal range, your natural singing skills and style. We can discuss any particular goals you might have. If you are a beginner, we will start simple and go from there. Every vocalist has a musical style(s), that best complements their voice. Styles include Pop, Broadway, Jazz, R&B, Rock, Opera and as well as few others. Because all classes are tailored for each individual student, at the end of your first class you will have a personalized map of what you will learn in vocal lessons. Lessons generally consist of 4 areas of focus: 1- A VOCAL WARM UP 2- LEARNING VOCAL TECHNIQUES 3- LEARNING A SPECIFIC SONG 4- PERFORMANCE TECHNIQUE WHICH BUILDS CONFIDENCE
