About Simon

I am an experienced secondary school Maths teacher and also experienced in providing personal Maths tuition. I have spent hours developing novel methods to simplify and clarify Maths which, together with my personable nature, have yielded very positive results.

I have a Science degree that included three years of Maths, a Masters Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Maths with a merit in teaching practice.

I am now retired so can be very flexible with availability. As well as teaching experience, I have engineering experience in industry with Rolls-Royce Derby and Nissan in Sunderland. I find it helpful to be able to use this experience to bring Maths alive for the students, avoiding students' perception of Maths being abstract and not useful, aiding motivation
