I have been giving assistance to a wide range of students; from high school to undergraduate students of Physics and Mathematics. I use mostly student-centred approaches that enable students to develop critical-thinking as well as problem-solving skills. I see the student as the main player in the game of knowledge construction and myself as the coach. Most often, I prefer asking guiding questions to help students reach conclusions themselves rather than to dish out ready-made solutions.
I am a trained Maths and Physics teacher with a keen, logical mind. I have MEd in Science Education and have taught Maths and Physics at high school for over 20 years before studying for my master's programme; with most of my high school students making excellent grades at final exams. Since I enrolled at postgraduate level, I have been a teaching assistant and tutor of undergraduate students for 11 years, while I still assisted a few high school learners so that they could improve on their grades.
