About Leah

Hi there! I'm an undergraduate student at University of Toronto majoring in English and minoring in Philosophy and History. After completing my Bachelor of Arts I'm planning on getting my Bachelor of Education, so I can teach high school students. I've always had a passion for both writing and teaching, so I'm looking forward to sharing some of my knowledge with you.

About the lesson

Student-friendly tutorial sessions in writing, literary analysis, and any other English skills you want to work on. My sessions are geared toward students in grades 7-12 and a lot of my methodology will depend on your age and level of comfort with English already. We can focus on essay writing, literary comprehension, or oral speaking—whatever skills you want to improve. A typical meeting will be 30 minutes to an hour in which I will share some writing techniques, have you practice with my guidance, and offer some feedback. The sessions will be pretty laid back in terms of atmosphere and homework will be light but necessary.

I had the privilege of being Leah's Grade 12 Creative Writing teacher. During that time I was afforded the opportunity to read her work almost daily. Among her many skills as a writer, I was most impressed with Leah's versatility. She was always able to approach new styles, genres and written forms with grace and confidence. As a result, she consistently produced high-quality work. I have used Leah's writing as examples for other students, and it is exciting to know that she has continued to nurture her love of language. In addition to her exceptional skill as a writer, Leah's patience, kindness and openness will make her an excellent tutor.
