About Quy
I'm a UNSW Civil Engineering graduate now completing my Master of Teaching (Secondary). I run a private tutoring practice across Math, English, Science, and History for K-12 students, and I care more about building real understanding and confidence than just getting through content.
Outside tutoring, I'm working on my own fitness goals, training toward becoming a well-rounded athlete, which keeps me discipline-focused in everything I do, including how I coach students.

I believe tutoring works best when it's built around how a student actually thinks, not a one-size-fits-all worksheet. My approach comes from two angles: a UNSW Civil Engineering background that gives me a genuinely strong grip on Math and Science fundamentals, and hands-on classroom experience through my Master of Teaching (Secondary).
That combination matters. I don't just know the content, I know how to explain it in a way that actually lands, because I'm trained in how students learn, not just what they need to know.
In our sessions, I focus on:
1. Diagnosing exactly where a student's understanding breaks down, rather than re-teaching everything from scratch
Building confidence alongside content, especially for students who've started to believe they're "just not a math/science person"
2. Real exam technique, not just content knowledge, so marks actually reflect understanding
3. Clear, structured sessions with a plan, most students know exactly what we're working on and why
