I am 20 and going into my third year of University.
I would start off with each student trying to get an understanding of their level of ability with their strengthens and weaknesses by giving them a few questions to start. Then I will proceed to start by showing them examples and going through step by step to help them understand how to approach a question. After showing them some examples will give them questions to try and give clues if they need a little help. Doing questions themselves will help them remember the steps and understand and make it become more natural rather than just writing down steps that they have memorised.
