About Ishaan
Hi! I'm Ishaan, a Statistics student at the University of Michigan with a 790 SAT Math score and experience tutoring SAT Math through Schoolhouse.world. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects, and I enjoy helping others reach the same level of confidence and understanding that has helped me succeed academically.
Beyond tutoring, I've held leadership roles mentoring and teaching students in my community, which has strengthened my communication skills and ability to connect with learners of different backgrounds. My teaching philosophy is simple: true understanding leads to long-term success. Rather than having students memorize formulas or procedures, I focus on helping them understand the reasoning behind each concept so they can confidently solve unfamiliar problems on their own.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and areas of difficulty. We'll review key concepts, work through examples together, and then practice increasingly challenging problems while discussing strategies and common mistakes. I encourage questions throughout the lesson and adapt my pace and explanations to each student's learning style.
