About Charlie

I am a university law student with a strong interest in legal education, academic research, and helping others develop confidence in complex subjects. Alongside my studies, I have gained experience through judicial marshalling and leadership roles in university societies, which have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and think critically.

I want to teach because I enjoy breaking down difficult ideas into something more accessible and seeing students grow in confidence over time. I also understand how challenging it can be to navigate demanding academic subjects, and I aim to provide support that is structured, patient, and encouraging.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is structured, adaptive, and focused on building both confidence and independent thinking. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Instead, I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and preferred way of learning. This might include breaking down complex concepts step-by-step, working through exam questions together, or focusing on essay structure and critical analysis.

My teaching style is interactive and discussion-based. I encourage students to think aloud, ask questions freely, and engage actively with the material rather than passively receiving information. Where relevant, I also focus on exam technique, timing, and how to approach problem questions or essays under pressure.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and concentration span.

In terms of experience, I am a high-achieving university law student with experience in academic research, judicial marshalling, and leadership roles in university societies. This has given me a strong grounding in both legal theory and practical application, as well as the ability to explain complex material in a clear and accessible way.

My lessons are aimed primarily at secondary school students, sixth form students, and undergraduate students studying law or related subjects, but I am happy to adapt for different levels depending on need.
