About Abigail
If someone had met me as a ten year old and been asked to make a prediction about the future ofmy education it would not have been very promising. I was underachieving and had fallen between the cracks. Luckily I found teachers whotook the time and care to help me.
As a result, I care deeply about helping students achieve the most they can, and believe that this is achieved through the relationship between student and teacher, and the attention they receive. As a teacher I am not afraid to rip up a plan and start afresh if it doesn’t seem to be working to help a student achieve their absolute best.

I am extremely adaptable in my methodology and am able to tutor students whether they are aiming for a pass of an A*. As someone who is neurodivergent I am particularly aware of the to spend time finding how to best teach a student and to make it enjoyable for them. I also have an understanding of how to get particular results that go beyond just learning a syllabus.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a 1st class MA in Theology, but spent my first two years doing a combination of Religious Studies, English Literature and Art History.
I have tutored a range of students fromthose aiming for A*a to adults trying to complete their English GCSE later in life.
I offer 50 minute sessions and like to have to first session as a get to know each other that involves a discussione about exam boards, the syllabus as a whole, how the student likes to learn, how they’re feeling sbout the subject at present and their aims.
