About Stephanie
My belief is that all students have more potential than they may think. If they are starting to learn something new, I encourage them to trust and believe in themselves that they are more than capable. I also tell all students to never compare themselves to others, as everyone has their unique strengths in different areas, and different ways that they learn. If a student is not doing as well as their peer in a certain subject, it does not mean that they are less intelligent, competent or talented - it just means that perhaps their current methods of learning, studying or practicing is not the one that works the best for them. By exploring different ways of learning and studying, my goal is to help each student discover what works best for them in order to bring out their potential and capabilities.
I would also like to put forward that I am studying different methods of psychology at university, and if needed, I would be more than happy to listen and provide some support for students experiencing stress or anxiety.

I enjoy teaching students through a variety of different ways, and I believe it is important to establish a strong connection with them in order to best understand their needs and how they learn. My lessons will benefit students from Grade 2 to Grade 12 in school, and I also teach violin up to RCM level 10.
My role in teaching and tutoring is to introduce the material and key ideas, and to encourage and guide the students to make discoveries and understand the concepts and materials on their own - there will be no rote memorization or spoon-feeding. Instead, I will do my best to help students make connections between what they are learning and how it can be seen and applied in the real world.
My experience includes:
- Volunteer Student Tutor 2019-2020 for a grade 10 student in math (functions). I discussed with the student about their needs and their capabilities, created worksheets, lesson plans and set a schedule with the student for them to work on. We had weekly meetings to provide assistance and answer student’s questions.
The student’s grade improved by 35% by the final report card
- Numerous student-tutor opportunities at school for my peers
- Summer job position at the Royal Conservatory of Music School in Summer 2022, 2019, working with children 4-12 years old
- Violin Teaching jobs for a 10-year old and for an 8-year old beginner student
- Multiple violin soloist concert and job events
- 5 years as a member of the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra
- Psychology research project assistant at McGill University
