About Ng

I am a UCL Mathematics and Statistical Science graduate with a strong academic background in Maths and Sciences. I achieved A* grades in Cambridge A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that may initially feel challenging.

I have been teaching since my first year of university, including tutoring students online while studying in London. I teach A-Level and IGCSE Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with a focus on clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving and exam-focused practice.

I have always enjoyed helping students understand challenging topics, especially in Mathematics and Sciences. Tutoring allows me to share my knowledge, support students in building confidence, and continue developing my teaching skills while studying in the UK.

I believe that good tutoring is not just about giving answers, but helping students understand the logic behind each method. My aim is to make lessons approachable, structured and engaging, so students can strengthen their understanding, improve their problem-solving skills and feel more prepared for exams.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, clear and tailored to each student’s level. I teach A-Level and IGCSE Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, with a preference for Cambridge A-Level/IGCSE students, although I am also open to other exam boards such as Edexcel, AQA and OCR.

I have been teaching since my first year of university and have experience tutoring students online through platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. My typical lesson length is 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and the topic covered.

I usually begin by explaining the core ideas of each topic or chapter, before using notes, graphs or diagrams where helpful. I then go through example questions step by step, showing students how to approach problems logically and avoid common mistakes. After each small section, I give students the chance to ask questions before moving on.

At the end of each lesson, I provide practice questions or exercises to strengthen problem-solving skills and exam technique. I achieved A* grades in A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and I am currently studying Mathematics and Statistical Science at UCL.
