About Brandon
I am a UCF Biomedical Sciences graduate with a strong background in chemistry, biology, and the health sciences, along with undergraduate research and laboratory experience. My coursework required me to use chemistry across everything from general chemistry and biochemistry to molecular biology and disease, so I understand how important it is to actually understand the concepts instead of just memorizing equations long enough for a test.
One of my strengths as a tutor is listening first. I like to ask questions and figure out what a student already understands, where they started getting lost, and what part is actually causing the confusion. Sometimes a student doesn’t need the whole chapter retaught — they’re missing one idea that everything else is building on. I’m good at finding that gap and breaking things down into smaller, manageable steps.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and pretty relaxed. I know difficult science classes can be stressful, especially when you feel like everyone else understands something that you don’t. I try to create an environment where students are comfortable saying “I have no idea” or asking the same question another way. I also have a sense of humor and like keeping sessions engaging and light while still getting real work done.
I have experience with peer tutoring, mentoring, academic presentations, student leadership, swim instruction, and working with high school students through international youth programs. Those experiences taught me how to explain things in different ways, pay attention to when someone is frustrated or checked out, and adjust rather than just repeating the same explanation.
I work especially well with high school Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and introductory college chemistry students who want someone who understands both the science and what it feels like to be stuck in a challenging class. My goal is for students to leave feeling more capable and confident, not just with the answer to the problem we happened to work on that day.

My chemistry lessons are built around figuring out where something stops making sense and working from there. We can review class notes or assignments, prepare for quizzes and exams, work through practice problems, or go back and strengthen concepts that never fully clicked the first time.
A typical lesson starts with a few questions or problems so I can see what the student already understands and where they’re getting stuck. From there, we break the topic down step by step, work through examples together, and then have the student practice applying it on their own. I like asking questions along the way rather than just showing the answer, so students learn how to recognize what a problem is asking and what approach to use.
I can help with high school Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and introductory college chemistry, including topics like dimensional analysis, atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, gases, solutions, acids and bases, equilibrium, and thermochemistry.
I’m patient, encouraging, and comfortable explaining the same idea in different ways until it clicks. My goal is for students to leave the session understanding the chemistry better, but also feeling more confident about approaching the next problem themselves.

Brandon is really patient and good at explaining things without making someone feel bad for not getting it right away. He’s good at noticing when someone is frustrated or checked out and changing how he explains something so it actually clicks. He also has a good sense of humor and makes things feel more relaxed and engaging. He’s very encouraging and easy to talk to, but still knows how to keep someone focused. I think he’d be really good working with middle or high school students.I know Brandon through our work together at UCF, where he founded and leads a student organization and I serve as Vice President/co-founder. Working with him has shown me how thoughtful, organized, and genuinely committed he is to helping others learn and feel supported.
Brandon is very good at breaking down complicated topics and making them feel approachable. Whether he is leading discussions, planning events, preparing academic material, or helping others understand an idea, he brings patience, clarity, and a lot of care to the process. He creates an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and engaging, even when the topic is challenging.
What stands out most to me is that Brandon combines strong academic ability with a very encouraging and down-to-earth personality. He is reliable, curious, hardworking, and passionate about science, especially biology, neuroscience, and health-related topics. I would highly recommend him to students looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping them succeed.I have known Brandon closely for years, and I have seen how seriously he takes learning, science, and helping other people understand difficult material. He is very thoughtful and good at breaking complicated topics into clear steps.
Brandon has a strong background in biomedical sciences, neuroscience, research, and pre-health coursework, but what makes him stand out is the way he explains things in a calm and approachable way. He genuinely cares about helping people feel more confident, not just giving them quick answers.
I’ve seen him lead, mentor, present, and support students in different academic and volunteer settings, and he brings a lot of maturity and encouragement to the way he works with others. I would absolutely recommend Brandon to students who want a knowledgeable, supportive, and reliable biology tutor.See more recommendations
