About Hugo

I hold both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering (minor in Chemistry) from UBC, and am now pursuing my PhD in Mechanical Engineering. My research focuses on air pollution measurement strategies, systems methods, and industrial transitions towards sustainability. I have years of tutoring experience and am currently a teaching assistant for multiple undergraduate engineering and science courses at UBC.

Note: I am not able to tutor a course for which I am a current Teaching Assistant or guest speaker

About the lesson

I've been teaching IB Physics and Chemistry on and off since before I was in undergrad, and I know how overwhelming it is to have exams looming when you haven't started your IAs, much less your Extended Essay... I want to help guide you through the process so you can build a solid understanding of material and be ready for university-level topics.

Perfect! Hugo is patient and takes the time to really understand where the student requires support. My son was discouraged with previous tutors but walked away from his first session with Hugo feeling heard and with a greater understanding of the material in his Physics class.
