About Carl

I am an ex-school teacher and college lecturer who has experience in teaching entry level to level 6 students. I have a background in many subjects including Sport, PE, Human Sciences (anatomy, physiology, and nutrition). I am also adept in teaching English language and literature.

My first love is the science, especially with regard to human organisms.

I have also taught ESOL up to Level 4 and 5 and I have been heavily involved in Public Service course development and teaching.

I have vast experience in essay construction and meeting grading criteria. I have experience with academic developmental skills such as UCAS applications, references and career development.

I am a qualified personal trainer and a 4th-degree black belt Karate in which I have instructed for a number of years.

My love is teaching. I like to impart knowledge and make the learning experience an enjoyable one!

I have a number of subject areas which I feel confident to teach.

My main area of expertise is Sports Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition and Human Biology. I have taught these subjects to students ranging from Level 1 BTEC Sport to Degree Level.

I am also 'au fait' with BTEC / A Level PE theory and Uniformed Public Service Theory.

I have also had experience in teaching ESOL, essay construction and delivery, examination preparation and applications to higher education.

I use a variety of teaching methods including visual, experimental, lecture, tutorial and discussion. I think an amalgamation of different methods is better than reliance on one. This aspect I would tailor to the individual learner's needs.
