About Elliot
After obtaining 12 GCSEs and being the first student in my school's history to sit 6 A levels, I went on to graduate top of my class studying Chemistry at Durham University. Throughout my education I have developed a strong framework based on understanding from first principles and exam technique that has allowed me to excel in my educational pursuits. I am reliable, friendly and focused. I am motivated to help students at all ages and abilities push themselves to achieve the best results possible, whilst gaining an appreciation and enjoyment for the subject. Instead of simply teaching students definitions and trivial formulae through rote learning, I work with students to develop a strong foundation of understanding in addition to equipping them with the tools to effectively tackle any analytical problem. This approach leads to strong academic results, as my students aren't unnerved by challenging or atypical questions. Elliot had a friendly teaching style that made chemistry less intimidating and more approachable. As well as being a great teacher he also helped me structure my revision and had great tips on how to study and get the most out of my work.
Elliot tutored me during my AS chemistry exams, really helping me understand the subject. He had a strong focus on nailing the basics with me, and would then walk me through exam questions and mark schemes step by step to show me what examiners wanted.
This really improved my chemistry and even exam technique/ revision methods for other subjects. Highly recommend.See more recommendations
