About Patricia
Hello :) My name is Patricia Freitas. I am a BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences graduate with a first-class and an outstanding performance award. I am a recent MSc Biomedical Sciences (Clinical Biochemistry) graduate with Distinction. I am applying for a PhD in cardiology, neurology or cancer biology. I'm passionate about science, and I enjoy teaching in an in-depth yet fun way so that we can achieve high grades while enjoying the topics and becoming a true scientist! My undergraduate project involved analysing prostate cancer microarrays to assess osteoprotegerin presence (we are yet to understand whether it aids or fights cancer!). My master's dissertation involved analysing wildtype and mutant zebrafish (with a balance deficit) to understand more about balance disorders since our sense of balance is perhaps one of our lives most overlooked yet crucial components! If any of these topics interest you, we can always have a chat at the end of our sessions, and who knows, you might become interested and end up picking the topic for your dissertation, further adding to the research field :)

About my qualifications: Being a BSc(Hons) Medical Science graduate (First-class) and an MSc Biomedical Sciences (clinical biochemistry) graduate (Distinction), I am excited to help you reach your objectives and push your potential towards a first-class. What I have to offer: - Biomedical science subjects (university): physiology, anatomy, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics. Lessons will be 1 hour. I have always advocated in-depth notes with extra reading and huge diagrams to complement and compact everything. The lessons will also include extra reading content and in-depth teaching with notes and diagrams I made so that you can achieve your best. I will also advise you on how to organise yourself during uni and how to create top-class notes. The lesson planning will be provided in advance with a full copy of the notes, diagrams and any written/drawn content throughout the session. - I also provide teaching on laboratory skills (PCR, qPCR, RNA extraction, DNA synthesis, flow cytometry, histopathology analysis) -Friendly support, advice and guidance on how to achieve top grades.
