About Marina
I graduated from The University of Tennessee at Martin. I taught 7th grade math for 5 months right out of college. For the last 9 years, I have been teaching various math courses within the high school setting including, Algebra 1, Math Intervention, Geometry, ACT Prep, Senior Bridge Math, and Personal Finance. I do not have a special education degree. However, I have multiple years of experience working with a math inclusion classroom with students who have some type of math and/or reading-based learning disability. I have also done after school tutoring for 7+ years, providing more individualized assistance to students when needed.

I really resonate with visual learners and learners who benefit from mnemonic devices and silly ways to remember things. In general, I like to use a mixture of the "I do, we do, you do" method along with the "discovery" method. I expect my students to be inquisitive and ask questions when needed, sparking educational conversations aiding in learning. I work with students in middle school, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I have experience in both regular education math classrooms, as well as inclusion math classrooms, where students may have some type of learning disability.
