About Shelli

In addition to my teaching background, I have spent more than a decade working in professional communications, writing, marketing, and social media. My work has focused on helping organizations communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. This real-world experience allows me to help students not only succeed in school but also develop practical communication skills they can use throughout their lives.

About the lesson

My approach begins with your goals. Whether you want to improve your grades, become a stronger writer, build confidence reading challenging texts, prepare for college, or communicate more effectively at work, we'll create a learning plan that makes sense for you.

I see myself as a coach and mentor, not a dictator. Every student learns differently, and I believe curiosity is a more powerful motivator than memorization. Together, we'll identify your strengths, build new skills, and develop strategies that help you become a more independent learner.

At the heart of reading and writing is communication and understanding. Reading helps us make sense of the world, understand different perspectives, and engage with ideas that challenge us. Writing allows us to clarify our thinking, express ourselves, and connect with others. My goal is not simply to help you complete assignments but to help you become a more confident thinker and communicator.

Lessons are tailored to your needs and may include reading comprehension, literature analysis, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary development, research skills, study strategies, or professional communication. We'll combine instruction, discussion, guided practice, and feedback to help you make steady progress.

With a Master's Degree in Education and a professional background in writing, communications, and business, I bring both classroom expertise and real-world experience to every lesson. I can help you succeed academically while also developing skills that will serve you long after a test, paper, or course is finished.
