About Leann
Hello, I’m LeAnn Tyson, and I’m honored to be your teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Business
Administration from Kennesaw State University and earned my TESOL certification while studying
abroad. During that time, I also completed coursework in international business and cultural studies,
which strengthened my ability to engage with students from diverse backgrounds. I view education as a
lifelong process and continuously seek to refine my teaching practices.
With over ten years of teaching experience, I began my career at Academy International
Montessori Kindergarten and later served as a lead ESL instructor at Beijing Normal University
Asia-Pacific Experimental School and M.A.D Education. My teaching is rooted in culturally and
linguistically responsive methods, allowing me to adapt instruction to meet each learner’s needs. My
background as a trainer also equips me to motivate students and support their academic growth.
I specialize in developing students’ literacy, writing, and overall English language proficiency. I
create inclusive, structured, and engaging lessons tailored to multilingual learners and those with diverse
learning needs. My approach emphasizes clear communication, strong teacher-student relationships, and a
supportive environment where students can build confidence and achieve success.

After interviewing the student, I find out their particular likes and dislikes, so I can create a curriculum around their interests. Also finding out what the student's needs are based on giving them an assessment and asking the parent and the student what they think they need to work on. Then creating the curriculum based on that and the student's interests. Examples are available upon request.
