About Renelle

If your child has an IEP, a learning disability, Autism, or an Emotional Behavioral Disorder — and you feel like no one truly understands what they need — you're in the right place.

I'm Dr. Renelle Thermidor, a doctoral-level Special Education specialist with 19 years of experience working with students who learn differently. I hold a Doctorate of Education in Special Education from North Central University, along with an Educational Specialist degree in the same field. I've spent my career working across Gwinnett, Barrow, and Walton County school districts in metro Atlanta — as a classroom teacher, transition coach, and currently as a Special Education Instructional Specialist.

I've worked with students with Autism, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Cerebral Palsy, and a full range of learning disabilities. I understand how IEPs are written, how schools make eligibility decisions, and how to design instruction that actually reaches students who have struggled in traditional settings.

What I offer:

✦ Parent coaching — I help you understand your child's IEP and advocate confidently at school meetings

My sessions are tailored to each student's individual learning profile. I don't use a one-size-fits-all curriculum — I build from where your child actually is, using data-driven strategies and the same approaches I've used to support hundreds of students throughout my career.

I also have training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which enables me to support students facing both academic and behavioral challenges.

I offer sessions online via Zoom and in-person in the Buford/Gwinnett area. I work with K–12 students and college students. Whether your child needs ongoing weekly support or targeted help before an IEP meeting, I'm here.

About the lesson

My lesson begins with understanding what works for my students and ensuring they understand that my goal is to support their learning needs. I learn what type of learners my students are and teach them how to use their learning to help them improve their skills and support their progress.
