About Jessica
My name is Jessica and I have been a teacher for over ten years. I was trained in teaching methods at Columbia University's Teachers College. I attended college on a Full Tuition Honors College Scholarship, graduated Summa Cum Laude and am part of Phi Beta Kappa (top 1% GPA of the university). I tailor my evidence-based lessons to each student and their individual needs. I will always discuss with you in advance what your goals are, as well as progress made after each session. I also try to make the lessons fun!

My name is Jessica and I am a reading specialist. I have years of experience working in an elementary school as well as at a preschool, high school, life-skills program and private school. For my reading specialization, I have been trained by Dr. Anita Archer in REWARDS and Phonics for Reading, as well as in the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum.
I am also an experienced SAT instructor and would be happy to tutor you for the SAT. I have been teaching the SAT for two renowned test preparation companies in New York since 2013. I took the SAT exam and scored in the 99th percentile for Math and Writing, and the 98th percentile for Reading. I personalize my lessons to each student and their individual learning styles, incorporating the evidence-based teaching practices I learned while at Teachers College, Columbia University. The combination of strategies and content that I teach has led to significant results. My students have attended colleges and universities across the United States, ranging from the Ivy Leagues to local and community colleges, depending on their preferences. Due to my own SAT success, I attended college on a Full Tuition Honors College Scholarship.
