About Mary
I teach epigenetics research at the college level and have experience working with middle and high school students on a variety of subjects, including Darwin’s Theory of Evolution, frog dissections, pre-calculus, and statistics. In my free time, I enjoy watching anime and sketching portraits. I also love playing pickleball and listening to audiobooks, particularly historical fiction and thrillers, though I also have a passion for science fiction and fantasy novels.

My expertise lies in the biological sciences, with a focus on molecular genetics and epigenetics. In addition to this, I also teach other subjects like mathematics (covering areas such as arithmetic and algebra) and basic R programming (using RStudio). I will follow the structure of your course and assist in breaking down complex topics. I like to use visuals to help make abstract or challenging concepts easier to understand. Together, we'll work through practice problems and go at a pace that suits you.

Perfect! Mary reviewed my son's graded Honors Algebra 2 assignments to identify areas he was having difficulty, went over them with him, guiding him to the correct process for each and how to make the decisions on what formula to use and how to do the ones they reviewed. She made him feel comfortable and provided me with guidance on where he stands. I feel that he will be able to go from missing some earlier lessons to up to date with a sound foundation.
