About Evelyn
Hello! I am Evelyn Owen-Sharratt! I am currently getting my Bachelor of Science at the University of Vermont. In addition, I am in the Place-Based Education Certificate Program. This summer I taught 96 classes to around 400 kids at an environmental summer camp. Throughout my grade-level education, I loved all my English courses at any level! I was a top student in all my creative writing or essay-driven classes- even at the AP level! I hope to share my joy for essays with my students. I am a very patient person with lots of teaching experience from ages 8-15, and I foster joy in the subjects I teach! Cannot wait to meet you :D

As a tutor, I prioritize the one-on-one connection with students to truly help them improve in their classes. Knowing how to communicate with different ages of students or levels of classes is a skill I have mastered. A typical lesson plan would involve me assisting a student in writing or editing their essays at any course level. Starting off with topic sentences, paragraph structures, and thesis statements. Once the student has either developed an essay or has shown a previously written one, I will transition into the nitty-gritty editing! What sets me apart from other tutors is that while I have a passion for English Literature- I am a poetry lover at heart :)
