I’m an enthusiastic tutor with a passion for helping students succeed. I received the English Award for outstanding grades at my sixth form and am currently studying Politics & International Relations at the University of Glasgow. I specialise in English, essay writing, and exam preparation, and I’m committed to providing personalised, engaging lessons that help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. My tutoring style is student-focused, meaning I adapt each session to suit the student’s learning style, strengths, and areas they’re struggling with. I break down complex ideas into simple, understandable terms and use examples students can relate to. Whether it’s essay writing, close analysis, or exam prep, I make sure each lesson is interactive and engaging — asking questions, working through examples together, and setting small, achievable goals. Sessions usually last 1 hour, but I’m happy to adjust depending on what works best — 45 mins for younger students or longer sessions during exam season. Who the Lessons Are For: - GCSE and A-Level students needing support in English Literature, English Language, Politics, or general essay-based subjects - Students looking for help with essay writing, revision techniques, or exam preparation Teaching Techniques: - Breaking down essay questions and planning arguments - Using past papers and mark schemes to practise exam techniques - Annotating texts together and analysing language closely - Giving clear, constructive feedback - Setting small tasks between sessions to build skills steadily
