About Callum
Many students are afraid of maths- the exams, the complexity and the fear or embarrasment of being wrong. This is something I have faced and overcome, and aim to help and support students to fight through this fear and anxiety around maths. Infact, my passion for maths stemmed from the many hours of hard work I had to put into the subject. Just like any other subject, maths is a skill, a way of looking at the world and I hope to give my students the tools to be able to see maths like this. Other than maths, I am passionate about languages french in particular, and learning about different cultures. Another passion of mine is art so much so during the summer I have ran art classes for primary school children in their final year. I also am a part time lifeguard and leisure attendant, which has equipped me with great people skills and communication.

I try to help students fully understand why we do maths the way we do, fully explaining the steps taken to allow them to think like as a mathematician would. I think exam technique is very important, and as someone who has dyslexia, I completely understand the difficulties some students face during exams, so I try to give straight forward methods to overcome these problems! Lessons would normally be for an hour, but this can very if needed! I have previously taught support classes for GCSE maths students, to which many found increadibly helpful in their studies.
I have just finished my A level studies in maths, further maths, chemistry and french, and in september I will be starting my maths degree at the University of Manchester.
