About Asya
I was an Intern for the Writing Center at my local high school for 1.5 years and was invited to present at the International Writing Centers Association before COVID led to its cancellation. During my time there, I consistently tutored a number of students through the semester and was able to improve their grades on in-class assessments and essay projects considerably. I scored in the top percentile for the reading and English sections of the ACT, with a 36 and a 34, respectively. I am a published coauthor of a number of scientific papers available upon request and was an honors student in AP/IB English (am willing to tutor up to the AP level).
I am also passionate about Chemistry, Biology, and French. I received a 5 on all four of the AP exams and would be willing to tutor up to the AP level in all of these subjects, too!

I do my best to personalize my teaching methods to fit the needs of the student. By the end of the first session, I make sure I have a firm grasp of their learning style and their individual goals when it comes to tutoring. I continue by zeroing in on the specific areas they are struggling with for every respective subject and will review any content/basics they may need support with during the following sessions. I also often ask open-ended questions and go through several examples during our time together in a detailed fashion.
