About Baptiste
I am currently in the first year of engineering school (Seatech) in Toulon, after admission to the Concours Commun Polytechnique. I did a Preparatory Class for the Grandes Ecoles Maths-Sup Maths-Spé in Dijon, in the Mathematics-Physics-Engineering Sciences course, following a terminal S (bac obtained with mention TB). I spent my high school years and my 3rd grade at the Carnot college / high school in Dijon (21), 4th at Cours Sainte Marie de Hann in Dakar, (Senegal), 6th and 5th at Léon Delagrange college in Neuville-aux- wood (45).

I prefer to start a chapter of the course by explaining orally concrete examples having, as far as possible, an application in the real world. I think this is essential especially in mathematics, where it is sometimes difficult to understand what you are doing. I prefer calculation tips, examples and illustrations, against rote learning of theoretical definitions that are seen in class. It is essential, especially at the college / high school level, to understand rather than apply without knowing much. Having gone through all these classes I know which techniques and examples (which I discovered too late) would have helped me a lot. I am delighted when a student tells me that he did not understand a concept in this way and that everything seems clearer to him.
